Mechanism of Action

Potential Future Directions

Pressure-induced structural changes of alkaline earth hydrides (AeH2s), such as SrH2, could be a promising way to improve hydrogen transport properties and reveal the structure-property relationship in these systems. Here, we investigated the pressure evolution of the carrier transport properties of SrH2 using impedance spectroscopy measurements at room temperature and first-principles calculations. We found that the pressure-induced structural phase transition from a Pnma phase to a P63/mmc phase was associated with the transition from pure electronic conduction to mixed ionic-electronic conduction.
