Titanium Sulfate

titanium sulfate is the inorganic compound with the formula TiOSO4. It is a white hygroscopic solid that deliquesces upon exposure to air and heat. It is moderately water and acid soluble. It is used as a precursor for the synthesis of titanium dioxide (TiO2) photocatalysts. It also functions as a detection reagent for hydrogen peroxide, as it forms orange-yellow peroxotitanyl sulfate when exposed to peroxide.

Titanium (atomic number 23) is a metallic element with a silvery-white appearance, hardness and corrosion resistance. It occurs naturally as the crystalline minerals rutile and anatase, which can be mined to serve as a source for commercial titanium. It is also an important material in electronics, abrasives and coatings for armor plating and naval ships.
